The Chinese Newspaper. ' A couple of Scandinavian gentle-: gentle-: men called on us last evening and in-i in-i timated that the notice which ap- peared in the Herald a few days ago, concerning the Chinese of this city having no intention of starting a newspaper, reflected on the Scandinavian Scandin-avian population; and they desired us to take it back, explain or something of that sort. We cannot conceive how the item referred to should reflect on anyone, and as for contradicting the information, we cannot possibly do it. The feelings which governed the immortal Washington control us we cannot lie. No, gentlemen, the Chineso are not going to publish a newspaper in this city.
