WikofI; Supreme Judge, I long term), Luther Day; short term, W. W. Johnson; School Commissioner, Commis-sioner, Thomas W. Howe; Clerk of the Supreme Court, Kodney Toos; member of the boaal of Public Works, Stephen K. Hosiner. These are all ronomination except Johnson, who is nominatal tor the unexpired term of Judge Stone, resigned this day. The platform reaffirms the principles and policy of the Republican party, eulogizes eulo-gizes its achievements!, demands honesty hon-esty in otlice, favors a tariff for revenue rev-enue with such incidental protection as may aid and encourago home industry, in-dustry, denounces all forms of repudiation, repu-diation, and declares that justice and public faith demand that the debt of die United States bo paid in accordance accord-ance with the laws under which it is created, as declared in the act of March, '00, and that it is the duty ut government to adopt such measures ;ls shall gradually but certainly restore- paper money to a specie standard, stand-ard, without a shock to the business interests of the country; that when the currency shall have been restored to a specie value, hanking should be made tree; that the circulating medium me-dium may expand or contract according accord-ing o th'i demand of commerce or tnule; favors appropriate legislation, National and Suite, to secure cheap and speedy transportation of the products pro-ducts of industry; endorses the repeal ot the salary bill by Congress, and applauds its reduction of expenses and general Jreform of abuses; condemns con-demns the recent outrages against the j colored people in the South, and declares de-clares that the restraint of intempe-1 intempe-1 ranee and its causes to the full extent ot legislative, judicial and police powers of the Stale, ana the forfeiture forfeit-ure of public trust for intoxication, are demanded by the moral and material ma-terial welfare of society and the State. MISSOURI PEOPLE'S CONVENTION A SENSII1LE PLATFORM. St. Louis, 2. The People's Stale Convention met at Jetl'erson City today, to-day, and after organizing appointed a committee of conference of one from each congressional district to appoint a ticket. This evening, W. Gentry, of Fettis County, was nominated for Governor by acclamation; H. V. Headley, of Greene County, forLt. Governor. The balance of the ticket will be nominated to-morrow. 1 The platform adopted begins with' a preamble setting forth the evils of ruig rule, and denouncing the custom 1 01 electing State local officers on 1 national issues, as having become one of the chief causes of reckless partisanship and corruption in public pub-lic affairs, and declaring it time for the people to conduct the public affairs on business principles, and choose State officers with reference to fitness for their ; respective duties, and let questions of State -policy alone. They say the SUUe needs order and a faith-fid faith-fid enforcement of the Iaw3, that capital cap-ital and immigration may be induced to come to it; and they deuiaud the suppression of lawlessness and mob violence, and an impartial enforcement enforce-ment of law. They declare that the public money belongs to the people, and demand that the officer entrusted with it should pledge himself to account ac-count to the treasury for all interest received from public funds. They oppose op-pose any increaseof the State department; depart-ment; oppose all combinations which tend to increase the cost ' f transportation transpor-tation beyond fair remuneration; declaring de-claring the belief that corporations arc creatures of and subject to the control of legislative Dower, but deem it important im-portant that legislation Eh.aU not bo such as to impair the rights or usefulness useful-ness of such incorporations; favor the public school system, and demand its perpetuation; oppose frequent ecs-sions ecs-sions of the legislature, and favor a constitutional amendment making regular scsdons quadrennial; oppose any lurthercantractiouof the national currency as detrimental to the producing pro-ducing classes; recommend the people of various congressional districts to elect members who will work for tUe true interests of the producers of the West; the improvement of the water routes of the country and ether means of transportation to the seaboard; sea-board; the reduction of taxes and the adjustment ot duties on imports to a revenue basis; the speediest, feasible and safe .-eduction and cancellation af the interest-bearing debt; the a!xl-ition a!xl-ition of the monopoly features of our banking system, with as early a re-:urn re-:urn to specie payment a? can be ;ri'eeled without disaster to business.
