They were met at the depot by citizens and escorted to tbe capitol, where they will remain until to morrow afternoon, after-noon, when the veterans of Pickett's division and other ofheers and men of the confederate army and navy, the military of Richmond, including colored troops, civic societies, &c, will escort the body to Holywood cemetery. The unveiling of Stonewall Jackson's Jack-son's statue on Tuesday next will be a grand aflair, and will be assisted at by civic and military organizations, including the colored of tho city and a portion of the state. The director of tho mint has Buggested the propriety of the trensury department making a careful estimate of the annual expense ex-pense of preparing, issuing, redeeming, redeem-ing, cancelling and renovating fractional frac-tional currency; also an estimate as to the average amount of such currency cur-rency in course of transit to and from the treasury department, and the average amount in the treasury undergoing examination, preparatory to its cancellation or awaiting such examination. This information is necessary to correctly understand the comparative advantage as to the coat of issue and maintaining in good condition con-dition fractional silver and fractional paper currency, respectively. Now York, 23. The silver bullion at the Philadelphia mint is partly from Nevada mines and partly from the New York assay office, and comes in as rapidly as is required for coinage coin-age purposes. The assay office in New York supplies the mint with fine silver, sufficient to insure a coinage coin-age of $1,000,000 a month in subsidiary sub-sidiary Bilver coin. It is stated on authority of the chief coiner, if the mint was worked to its full capacity it would turn out $500,000 in small silver coins in a day. Coljnel Joyce Convicted, St. Louis, 23. In the United States district court for the western district of Missouri, the case of Colonel John Joyce, which has been in progress several days, was concluded this afternoon. after-noon. The jury returned a verdict ot guilty on all four counts of the indictment. indict-ment. The first two counts charge Joyce with having knowledge or information in-formation of a violation of the revenue lav? by Freeman & Co., of Kansas city, in not making entries in their books as required by law, and of emptying packages without cancelling the stamps, and not reporting this to his superior officers. The third count charges him with having knowledge that distilled spirits with a view to defraud de-fraud the United States of the revenue tax. The fourth count charges him with conspiring and colluding with Edward Sheepan to defraud the government, gov-ernment, for these oflenses not yet reported. The penalties of each count of the indictments are imprisonment in the penitentiary lor no less than six monthB and not more than three years; fine not less than $1,000 nor more than $5,000, and to be forever debarreilj from holding, under the United States government, any ofhee of honor, trust or profit. A motion . for a new trial will be argued by Joyce's council next week. A motion lor a new trial of John L.
