After the late terrible disaster disas-ter which left a large majority of the population of this place homeless and destitute, it becomes the painful duty of this people to call upon the good people of the United States for aid.. To this call a generous public has responded re-sponded with promptitude and liberality. liber-ality. The Indianola relief committee, com-mittee, grateful to a generouB public for timely and liberal aid furnished our suffering people, without a voice of dissent, direct that we announce that in view of the fact that many of our sufiercrs have found homes in the interior, the greater- number num-ber of those left can now obtain some remunerative employment, employ-ment, which, with Btout hearts and willing bands, will give them support, sup-port, then your generosity need not be further taxed. The committee would fail in their trust did they not publicly acknowledge the kind words of sympathy 'and material aid at almost al-most every section ot tho country. These contributions have and are now being distributed under personal supervision of the committee, with every prudent and equitable regard to the relief of suflerers, and it Is hoped that an account of our action which will be published in detail, will meet the approval of the generous doners.
