The diplomatic relations between this country and Venezula have been broken ofl because be-cause Holland rotused to indemnify the latter for an alleged intervention by Dutch subjects at Curacoa in Ven-ezulan Ven-ezulan internal affairs. London, 9. In regard to tho differences dif-ferences between Holland and Venezula, Vene-zula, the former asked to be indemnified indemni-fied for the expenses of suppressing the recent revolt, which, as alleged, was aided by the inhabitants of Curacoa. Holland refused to enter into negotiations till Venezula restored re-stored the Dutch ship Midas, and agreed to open her porta to Dutch commerce. She agieed to restore the Midas, but desired a withdrawal by Holland of the Becond condition. Holland not agreeing to this in three days, diplomatic relations were ruptured rup-tured and the Dutch representative at Caraccas retired. |
