Show Cricket. A short time since the members of the Salt Lake City Cricket Club proceeded pro-ceeded to Wellsville, Cache Valley, and played a match with the Wells ville Cricket Club, which resulted in a victory for the "home boys." At the same time the return match waa arranged to be played at this city during conference week. Yesterday the match came ori'on the pasture of Mr. S. S, Walker, who graciously allowed the game to be played there. After the usual preliminaries, play was called, Salt Lake handling the "willow," and after some very fine batting on the part of Messrs. Piatt, Cushing and H. Pratt closed their inning with a total of 104 runs. Wellsville then went to the bat, but could not ovsrhaul their opponents as they only reached 46 in the two innings. Messrs. Wilton and Cushing Cush-ing were well in in their bowling, and proved very destructive to their opponents stumps. Result Salt Lake, 104; Wellsville, 2S and 1846. |
