Show City Council Meeting of the City Council, Tuesday Tues-day evening, Mayor Wells presiding: A petition was received from John Proctor and fifty-five others representing repre-senting that 4th South street, between 10th and 11th Eastpfreets, was almost impassable, and asking that it bo repaired- Laid on the table to come up in its order. , A petition was received from Henry Emery and others, asking the Council Coun-cil to open 8th west street; laid on the table. A petition from George Higgins, asking that the prorata amount of his unexpired saloon license be applied ap-plied on his new license, was granted. Petition of Jesse West, asking the privilege of occupying certain streets in tho southwestern part of the city, iidjoiuing his property and- formerly occupied by him, was granted during the pleasure of the Council. A communication from E. M. Bar-num, Bar-num, asking that the 'houses in tlie city he numbered, and suggesting that the " Philadelphia plan" be adopted, was laid upon the table to come up in its order, Tho report of Aldurman C: in ton for the montn ending January 31st, 1S74, was received and placed on file. The report showed that during the month H9 oases had been trial, $-3 in cash lines had been collected, and $074.50 in labor fines.. The supervisor of afreets, to whom was referred the petition of Mr. Ulbcn, and others, asking that Third South street, betveen Tenth and Eleventh Blast streets, be opened and improved, reported recommending that the prayer of the petition be granted.
