A communication was received from the House announcing the passage pass-age of (C. F, 5) ''An Act concerning conveyances with amendments;" also their concurrence in Council amendments amend-ments to (li, F.18) ''An Act pertaining pertain-ing to ce tain animals, etc.;" and to (H. F. 43) "An Act establishing a Bureau of Statistics." A motion of Mr. Starner (C. F. 5) 'An Act concerning conveyances," was referred to the Committee on Judiciary. (H. F" 36) "An Act amendatory of ( and supplementary to the charter of Fillmore," was passed, and returned to the House. Ou motion of Mr. Callistcr II. F. lo "An Act prescribing fees lor the Secretary of the Territory," was taken up and referred to the Committee Commit-tee on Revenue. A communication was received from the House announcing the pjiss-age pjiss-age of 0. F. 36 "An Act creating a Boa I'd of Managers for the Territory of Utah, etc." Recess. 2 p.m. Counsel resumed its session. A communication was receiveu from Hon. D. H. Wells, Mayor of Salt Lake City, relative to the Insane In-sane Asylum, and praying tor an appropriation ap-propriation to make further improvements improve-ments and to aid in sustaining the institution. Referred to the Committee Com-mittee on Claims and Appropriations. Appropria-tions. A communication was received from the House announcing the passage pass-age of H. F. 52 "An Act to regulate the manufacture, sale or other dis-ptfsal dis-ptfsal of intoxicating liquors." Mr. Smith presented petition of Homer Duncan and 83 others, praying pray-ing for the appointment of Louis R. ClialHn to the otiice of Notary Public for Iron County. Referred to the Committee on Elections. Mr. Smith, chairman of the Committee Com-mittee on Counties, to whom was referred re-ferred ffc. F. 45 "An Act defining the boundaries of counties and locating locat-ing county seats," reported it back amended in conformity with the petition peti-tion of Ward E. Pack and otliers,and lecommended the passage of the bill as amended. Report accepted. Mr. Woodruff, chairman of the Committee on Claims and Appropria-! Appropria-! lions, to whom wiis referred petition of General D. H. Wells, and Adjutant General H. B. Clawson, of the Utah militia, praying for an appropriation of $60,000 to defray some of the expenses ex-penses incurred in the Indian wars of ltibo-ti-7; recommended that said amount be incorporated in the Territorial Terri-torial appropriation bill, to be drawn on the order of Daniel H. Wei Is, upon approved vouchers, $30,000 in 1874, and $30,000 in 1875. On motion of Mr. Smoot, the report was accepted and the amount ordered to be included in the appropriation bill. Mr. Woodruff, chairman of the Committee on Claims and Appropriations, Appropria-tions, to whom Jwas referred H. F. 14 a bill for "An Act changing the boundary of Richmond City, in Cache county," reported it back,and recommended recom-mended its passage. Mr. Young presented petition of Ilosea Stout and others, praying for a compilation of the laws of Utah, which W)is read and referred to a special committee composed of Messrs. Young, Jennings and Smith. Mr. Smoot, chairman of the Committee Com-mittee on Elections, to whom was referred re-ferred H. F. 37 "An Act amending an Act regulating Elections," reported report-ed the siuiir back and recommended its passage; also, as chairman of the Committee on Municipal Corporations, Corpora-tions, reported back C. F. 33 "An Act to amend an Act entitled an Act amending the charters of incorporated cities," approved Feb. 15, 187-, and asked that it be put on its passage. Also H. F. 47 "An Act to amend an Act entitled tin Act incorporating Great Salt Lake City," and recommended recom-mended its passage. Mr. Smoot moved that the com- - mittee on Revenue be instructed to take into consideration the propriety -of incorporating tlie sum of $1,000 in ( the appropriation bill for the comple- , tion ot the Stue road south to the southern boundary of Provo City. Mr. Man, of the Committee on Judiciary, Judi-ciary, to whom was referred H. Mr. Farr, chairman of Committee on Judiciary, reported that they had considered C. F. 20, "An Act in relation re-lation to money, of account, etc.," and recommended the adoption of an additional section 7 to said bill, and that Sec. 7 be numbered Sec. 8. Pending reading the amendments the House took recess. 2 p. m. The report of the committee which was under consideration before recess, was taken up, the bill was rejected. A message was received from the Council, announcing the passage of House bill for "An Act amendatory of and supplementary to the charier of. Fillmore city." The committee on Municipal Corporations Cor-porations reported back the petition of W. B. A communication was received re-ceived from the Council announcing the adoption of a motion, the House concurring, that the com mittee of both houses, on Petetitions and Memorials, be instructed to report, re-port, on Wednesday, a memorial to Congress asking for the 'admission of Utah into the Union as a State. The House concurred. The Committee on Revenue reported repor-ted that they had examined the auditor's audi-tor's report of delinquent taxes, and recomu(ceded the passage ot an accompanying ac-companying bill for the relief of certain cer-tain county collectors. Bill passed. Council bill for "An Act to provide for the formation of corporations for public libraries, etc.," was read and recommitted to the Committee on private Incorporations. The Committee on Claims and Appropriations Ap-propriations recommended that $21,-65S. $21,-65S. 83 be appropriated to enable the auditor to close his accounts for the years 1S72-3. Report adopted. v. A message was rocoived from the Council announcing the passage of the House bill for "An Act changing chang-ing the boundary lines of Richmond city, Cache county." The committee on elections, to whom was referred the petition of S, J. Comfort and others, asking that a Notary Public be elected to reside at Diamond, Juab county, recommended recommend-ed that it be granted. Report adopted. adopt-ed.
