Howran, clerical, and Henry Wandixiini, lay delegate, from Lhe miesionarj' iuriliction of Nebraska, Nebras-ka, presented their credentialij as members of the Convention. Wandix-um Wandix-um is a full-blooded Dakota Indian, and a number of delegates spoke briefly but earnestly of the significance signifi-cance of the presence of a representative represen-tative of the Iudiaus sj a delegate to the convention. A message from the House Bishops informed the House of Deputies that the Ho'ise of Clerical and Lay Dele-grtes Dele-grtes concurring, they had adopted a resolution consenting to ratify ine the formation of a new dioceso in Ohio, composed of that portion of the State lying south of a line running along the south line of Mercer, eibelby, Logan, Union, Marion, Monroe.Knox, Coshocton, Tuscarora, Harrison and Jefferson counties. Another message was read ratifying ratify-ing the formation ot a new diocese in Michigan. A resolution was ofk-red by Buv. Mr. Harris of Louisiana, asking that the committee on canons be requested request-ed to make inquiries and report whether any canon prescribing what shall or shall not be done in reference to ritual could be enacted by this convention without violation of article ar-ticle eight of the constitution, lie-lerred lie-lerred to the committee on oaponi, The consideration of the messages from the House of Bishops, consenU ing to the consecration of Bishops elect Seymour, of Illinois, and Wells, of AYbsconsin, was postponed till Wednesday next. |
