Show AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO DOGS. Sec. 1. Be it ordained by lite City Council of Salt Lake City, that it shall not be lawful for any person to own or kucp a dog within the liruita of this City, without making application applica-tion to the City Recorder for that purpose, and shall pay to said Recorder, Recor-der, for the benefit of the City, an an-ual an-ual tax of three dollars. The Recorder Recor-der shall register the applicant's name and a description of the dog and give to said applicant a certificate of registry. regis-try. Any person found violating this weetion bhull be liable to a fine in any sum not lvsa than three nor more than ten dollars for each offence. Sec. 2. All dogs so registered, shall wear a suitable collar with the own-ner's own-ner's name or initials of the same inscribed in-scribed thereon, together with the number corresponding with the certificate certi-ficate of registry, and all dogs found at large not registered and collared aa aforesaid shall be liable to bo killed by any person. Sec. 3. Any female- dog found running at large while in heal, shall be liable to be killed, aud the owner or possessor thereof to a fine in any sum not exceeding fifteen dollars. Sec. 4. Any owner or possessor of a dog permitting or suffering the same to enter or be in any place of worship during the public sorvice, shall be liable to a fine in any sum not exceeding five dollars for each oHence. Tf unv nwnrr nr nnasRRKnr of a fierce, dungerous or mischiev-dog, mischiev-dog, permit the same to go at large, he shall be liable to bo fined for the first offence in the sum of five dollars; for the second offence the sum of ten dollars; and upon the third conviction convic-tion for the like offence shall pay fifteen dollars, and the cit? marshal shall immediately cause said dog to be killed. Tlie said marshal is hereby here-by authorized to cause the destruction destruc-tion of all dogs not registered according accord-ing to the provisions of this ordinance. Sec. 6. Any person who shall kill, or cause to be killed, any dog registered register-ed as provided in this ordinance, without the consent of the owner or possessor thereof, or deprive a registered regis-tered dog of its collar, or put a col lar on any dog not registered, shall be liable to a fine in any sum not exceeding ex-ceeding twenty-five dollars. Bee. 7. This ordinance shall bike effect from and alter the first day of April next. Sec. S. "An ordinance relating to dogs" passed April 27th, 1SG0, be and the same is hereby repealed. Danikl H.
