Show Holiday Theatricals. . Tlie nmnngement of tho theatre 1 has exerted itself to some purpose to bring out a holiday piece that will eclipse everything produced here bo-fore bo-fore in the burlesque and spectacular line. The Nymph of the Lurley-hei-g; or the Bottom of Salt Lake" would be one of the most effective of burlesques, even were no effuit made for scenic display; yet Mr. Tirrell and assistants have been busy almost night and day for a length of time, to give grand eflect to the holiday piece. Besides tlie transformation scene, which is gorgeously beautiful, eight new scenes have been painted expressly ex-pressly for it, one of them being a view of Salt Lake showing Black Rock, the Islands, and the deep blue of our inland sea. The transformation transforma-tion scene was designed and painted by Burberry, of San Francisco, and is a splendid piece of work. The costumes cos-tumes have been prepared with the greatest care and at a heavy outlay; and include handsome metal helmets, breastplates, wristlets, armlets, and other warlike gear for the corps of ladies who appear in the Amazonian march. This promises to be quite a feature of the piece, and so also will be the children's ballet, by a corps of petite young ladies. arranged by Mr. Henry Maiben. This piece is studded with local hits, puns and allusions all-usions by Messrs. George J. Taylor and Charles W. Stayner, and" Mr. C. W.Crosbie of the theatrical company; and in these the audience may expect ex-pect to enjoy some of the pleasantest and most amusingly attractive of the dialogue. From the length of time the piece has been in preparation and rehearsal, the pains taken to make it a feature long to be remembered in local theatricals, the expense to which the management has gone in mounting mount-ing and placing it upon the stage in an erleetive manner, the beautiful scenery, the handsome costumes, the glittering armor, the localisms introduced intro-duced and the excellent cast, those who witness the performance of the "Nymph of the Lurleyberg; or the Bottom of Salt Lake," may expect to enjoy a holiday treat of no ordinary character in a provincial city. Mr. Reid and assistants have been steadily at work on the machinery, which yesterday yes-terday was working as smoothly as if the piece had been running for some days; and the ladies and gentlemen in tho cast are "well up." All we can now add is to invite the public to go and see the spectacular burlesque.- HOTEL ARRIVALS. Docombor 24. T0WNSEXD DOUSE. F.
