Show M-13UIOW AB.Y MEETINGS, Spanish Foek, Juno 9, 1872. Continuation of tho two days' conference con-ference at Spanish Fork : The juoruiog services opened with siogiDg by the Spaniuli Fort ohoir. After prayer, the Provo choir eaon "Happy the man who fiods the grace." The meeting was addressed by elders W. H. DuscDbcrry, O. Simons of Pay eon, and prosident A- 0. Smoot. The afternoon speakers were bishop Bringhurst, of Spriopville; bishop W, Wilier and L. J'hn Nuttall, or' Provo; and bishop A. K. Thurber, of Spanish Fork.. Among the subjeots treated were the ' following : Education, both secular and religious; self sustenance in home manufacture; the importance of retaining re-taining in the Territory all the wool raised here, and of inoreasing it pro rata to our increased manufacturing facilities. Our past poverty was contrasted con-trasted with our present unparalleled prosperity, clearly evincing an overruling over-ruling Providence in the affairs of the church. The meetings were enlivened by the singing of the Spanish Fork and Provo choirs, and at intermissions with music by the Payson brass band. Yours, C. D. Evans. |
