Show Theatre. Thore was a good house last night to witness tho first performance perform-ance of "Little Em'ly." The piece I was excellently mounted and put on tho stage, the cathedral scene especially being very line. Oan'l Pegotty, by Mr. Chaplin, was an artistic impersonation imperson-ation ; while Miss Walters as Betsy Touchwood and Munha played with the pathos, power and ability whioh characterize thU Ili ly's performances in legitimate roles. Mr. Grahnm made a capital Micavvbcr; Mr. Thome's Uriah was as well rendered as anything we have seen him do for some time ; Mr. Harris Hindu "a very sensible idiot ;" Mr. Wilton waq at homo as Ham ; Miss Dellic Ctawson played Em'ly touch in tily simple ; and the pieoe taken altogether was a success. "Little Euj'ly" will be repeated this evening. |
