Show Iron C'i(y 11 strict. We had a call on Tuesday from Major S. M. Blair and Mr Wm. Flanegau, a practical miner from this District, who reported mining matters looking up. Mr. F. has been at work sinking shafts and running tunnels for a long time, in various mines, and considers Iron City mineral ledges second to none in the Territory. .The Monster, with a shaft of 120 feet, is yielding good paying ore. The Kast Lode has a vein paying $100 to the ton, and the Little Brig goes as hudi as $100. These locations are on Quart, Hill, at the head of Silver Canon, five miles north of Iron City, and in tho vicinity of inexhaustible coal beds, fine pine and cedar forests, and abundance of water for mining purposes, in a good grazing country. There arc already two hundred locations loca-tions made in Iron City District, all of which assay highly, and like many other parts of Southern Utah this portion will develop richly as soon as the railway linos strike it. |
