Show FUNERAL SERVICES OF VICTOR JOHNSON were e held in south bountiful sun 1 day afternoon january very large attendance funeral services over the remains of victor Jol johnson iDson were e held at the south bountiful ward meeting C house last sunday a afternoon ter at 1 under the direction of bishop starns hatch the attendance was very lar large lare e many out of town visitors were present a cortege of nearly fifty carriages were in ia the line to the camet cemetery ery the floral decorations were mast profuse and symbolical of the love and esteem in which the unfortunate deceased was held by neighbors friends and relatives the following hymns were rendered bythe by the ward choir 11 1 1 I 1 need thee every hour hodr 5 shall we meet beyond the river sometime well understand 1 I have read of a beautiful city the invocation was offered by elder samuel howard the bone diction was offered by elder israel barlow kind and appropriate re remarks marlis were made by bishop hatch joseph hogan james howard S 0 how howard ard daniel moss joseph H grant and charles R mabey the church was prettily decorated in white for the occasion abe fabe pall bearers were henry moss J W steed andrew gwynn robert maw vie vic tor ter gustaveson and alfred johnson four son in laws a nephew lephe w and a stedson st eyson mrs marie gustaveson and son victor miss fanny kay mrs airs emma kay prick frick chris anderson and mildred cox all of salt lake mr air and mrs nels of logan hyrum kay of bf pocatello mrs airs ida hall of ogden all relatives also each of the eleven children four son in laws with their families and friends from different points in the county a cortege of nearly fifty carriages accompanied the remains to the cemetery the deceased was born in Lo kerum kalmar len sweden october 30 1851 and died jianu january 25 1912 he leaves a widow and nine children to mourn his departure the widow mrs hildor johnson has a wide circle of acquaintances quain being a former resident of salt lake and logan where her brothers and sister also are well known especially in the scandinavian community she being M a daughter of bernt berato 0 kay of norway in 1875 she married alfred johnson a brother of 0 the deceased by whom she raised four children anna elida ehda L lillie flue and alfred jr in 1880 mr air johnson bought 0 the present farm in woods gross cross and began tode to develop the same the next year after locating there with his young youn t family his brother victor arrived in 1884 from the old county and took up his bis abode with his brother alfred died in the early spring espriu of 1885 and fate decreed that ho he deceased should become the protecting spirit of the fatherless family and as if to fulci the demands of the mosaic law the living brother married the w widow and seven children were the result of the union namely mary hulda beda alms alma hildor sylvia and elvin all living and highly esteemed in the community where they have ever taken an active part in its development young alfred completed a successful mission to sweden three years ago and is popular among 22 the people of south seuth bountiful tho eulogies 0 ies of the spes speakers kers and the generous response of good will and sympathy of neigh bors and the large turnout at the funeral indicates the esteem in which both the deceased and his bereaved ones are held in the community and all that kind hearts could do to soften the cruel blow of fate has been done and is duly appreciated by bythe the family |
