Show American Fork. Our American Fork correspondent sends us the following: At 10 o'clock, Saturday morning, a number of the home missionaries and people from adjacent settlements held a meeting at this place. Some disappointment dis-appointment was manifested at the non-appearance of President Young and the missionaries from Salt Lake Bishop Harrington called the meeting meet-ing to otiler and stated the cause of the President's absence. Remarks were made by George Wilkin and Elder Cotton, of Spanish Fork, Bishop , McCiillough of Alpine, and Bishop Smoot , of Provo. In the afternoon discourses were delivered by Thomas Childs, of Spring-villc, Spring-villc, and Elder Coombs, of Payson, W. X. Duscnbcrry and J. E. Booth, of tlie Provo Seminary. Among the subjects treated on were the necessity of home manufacture, education of the young, co-operation in all branches branch-es of business, etc. |
