Show Theatre. The man who went to the theatre last night with the view of stretching himself laaily on a seat and enjoying Lh? performance at leisure was fooled; he selected the wrong evening; even-ing; and with difficulty scoured a "standing scat." The house was jammed, crammed full in every part, and standing room was at a premium at an early hour. It was a great compliment com-pliment paid to Mr. Graham, and as j sueh will bo a pleading remembranoe to him when he is thousands of miles away. Tho performance gave considerable con-siderable satisfaction, though some scenes of the comedy were injured by dragging; but overybody seemed in-olined in-olined to accept all that with good nature. When the curtain fell on the first piece, ' Grab am" was loudly oalled for, appeared, and in a happy and somewhat humorous speech tendered his acknowledgements. Tho performance was not over until nearly midnight, when the large assembly slowly separated and melted into the night as they passed from the shadow of the fow street lamps. |
