Show THE ELECTION TO-MORROW- To-iuorrow tho general election for this Territory will be held. Wo have not Baid much conceding it, for it did not seem that there was need for much to be said. Election editorials, stump speeches and rousing ratification meetings meet-ings may all bo in order! and accomplish accom-plish considerable, where opposing candidates aro cot well known, or where the peoplo are somewhat closely divided on political issues that need elucidation. But this does not ciist here, although, jour small-fry politician politi-cian thinks he must be loudly denouncing denoun-cing an opponent and lauding himself and party, whether large or Bmall, under un-der ail circumstances. Tho gentlemen whose names appear on the People's Ticket are well known in the community. Mr. Cannon, who heads the list for delegate to congress, con-gress, needs no eulogy fiom us. His ability, high reputation, fitness for an' ! office where tho rights of tho whole ! people are ooncerned. and long expert- ! onco in public affairs, are widely recogoiied. While with the com mis- sioncrs to locate university lands and tho county ticket the legal voters of tho county are so familiar that there is ; no necessity to orge their special fitness for the offices named. Elections are always quiet in Utah, and we expeot this will be no exception to tho ru'o. But every legal voter, man and woman, should cast his or her ballot. It is at the polls that the people can speak with a force that is felt. And let the strictest scrutiny be maintained that there is no fraudulent voting. This all are interested in, for an illegal vote is a fraud on the public Our recommendation to all is to be at the pol's early to-morrow and deposit de-posit their ballots for the People's Ticket; watching carefully that they do not permit bogus tickets to be palmed off on them. |
