The poles are up within eiirht miles of Silver city, for the extension of the Deseret telegraph line from Payson; and the wire was deposited at Goshen Borne days ago. Mr. John Wilson, is spoken of as a very fine man, and received eighty-five eighty-five out of the eighty-seven votes cast there at the last election for Justice of the Peace. Building is going on at Silver city, which indicates growth and prosperity. prosper-ity. Water facilities at the same place are better than they have been, it being be-ing now obtained from Snyder's, three-quarters of a mile distant. Diamond city looks well, and building build-ing is going on rapidly there. The furnace of the Utah smelting company is expected to be ready to commence running this week. Several new dii-i coveries have been made around j Diamond of smelting ore. A spring of water has been discov ered about half a mile south and west I of the divide between Juab and Utah! counties. Stewart Bro's have located! it. Moore's claim on the Sunbeam is looking better every day, and he is getting out some very fine ore. Lewis' claim, on tho south extension of the Sunbeam, is down about 100 feet. Water has been struck, and better ore than was taken out previously. pre-viously. The Dragon ledge is prospecting very finely. One shaft is down a hundred feet, and the other U down sixty feet. There is every prospect of a good deal of work being done on it this winter. In tho Ruby, west of Silver City, owned by Southerland & Co., discovered discov-ered last fall, the upper shaft has good , ore, and the company are going to run i a drift from tho lower shaft. They I think it is one of the ledges of the' district. Eureka town and hill are somewhat dull in consequence of the litigation now in progress concerning mines there. The prospects of Tintic are good for a prosperous future. |
