Show Grand Duke Lode. And still they come. Yesterday morning we saw a uumbcr of specimens of ore from the Grand Duke lode, Tiutic, with assays therefrom made by Messrs. W'oodhull Bro's. This lode is on Eureka hill, which seems to be a mass of metal ol unusual richness. The assays ruu from 351UU per ton up as high as $10,000, as the rocs is carbonate of lead or horn 'silver. The body of ore will most likely like-ly go $150 per too. Of the horn silver a ton and a quarter has been received, the assay value going from $7,000 to $10,000. This mine was discovered by Mr. S. D. Woodhull, a gentleman oflong experience and practical knowledge; know-ledge; and is owned by Col. O. Strong, P. Wadsworth, W. Ashton, N. Bou-kofsky, Bou-kofsky, the Woodhull Bro'a and Col. S. Kahn. By-the-by, wo may state, as an interesting in-teresting item of history, that the Woodhull Bro's were the first to ship ore from this valley, as they were the first to erect smelting works in it. |
