The machinery for producing the .x rated water is placed in tho rear of the bottler, close against the wall, the lubcw running from ono cylinder to another, and conveying the liquid impregnated with tho gas to the bottling table. Tho operator stands at tho table, the bottles containing nyrup and sarsaparilla on his right hand, bis left ready to manipulate the tubo and bundle the corks. A bottle is placed in position, the stopper of tho tubo is opened and a cork placed above tho nock; when tho filling, corking and ?huiiinj( oil' the water is nearly a pimulraueous action, tho cork beiug forced down by a stopper obodiont to iho movement of a treadle touched by Lhe loot. The wiro to hold the cork in position is shoved on, and tho work is complete. Two hundred dozen a day can thus bo bottled by ono operator; opera-tor; and tho effervescing druht is ready for cooling purposes in hot weather. The factory is in tho rear of "ReidV |
