Show ! Tiikatee. "Pigeon" v i- repeated last night with the same success artistically artis-tically as on the previous evening. To-night Mrs. Bates will appear in the great role of "Elizabeth, "a personation person-ation in which she has justly won prominence. The contrast between such a character as the impulsive, passionate, pas-sionate, yet good-hearted torment "Pigeon," asd the regal haughtiness and masculine vigor of "Elizabeth," will show the lady's great versatility, while the Utter character will give opportunity op-portunity for a display of the rare powers which she possesses, Mr. Bates will make his first appearance here this evening, in the role of Robert, earl of Essex, and the cast wil comprise com-prise Miss Adams, Carrie Carter, Mrs. Bowriog, Messrs. Thorne, Dudley, Marden and others. Tho drama is a powerfully written ono, the title role is in the hands of a lady who has won a high reputation for her impersonation imper-sonation of it, the east is good, and there should be a large attendance. To-morrow night Mrs. Bates will take a benefit. |
