Show District Court. There was some lively arguments at the District Court yesterday, the Emma mine case being up, on a motion to allow the defendant, Mr. Lyon, to go into the mine and prepare for trial by making proper surveys, cto. Mr. Phelps, of Vermont, Ver-mont, for th plaintiff?, attacked Mr. Lyon, when Mr. HUlyer, for the defense, retorted in phrase pointed and somewhat galling. Messrs. Fitch and Hempstead had a little to say in their usual felicitous style. Notice was given thaj'a mandamus would be asked for on the clerk, to summon a jury according to proper form of law, which will bring up several interesting points. |
