Show BIG COTTONWOOD. Silver Springs, Big Cottonwood, June 23, 1871. Editors Herald : While men are puffing other mining districts throughout the Territory, giving giv-ing glowing accounts of mammoth discoveries dis-coveries of ores of fabulous richness and extent, Big Cottonwood has plodded plod-ded ou like the tortoise in the race, conscious con-scious of her own worth, and quite willing that others should enjoy the ephemeral fame of questionable puffs till the wild excitemeut, raised in the public mind by these exaggerations, should undergo the cooling ordeal of personal experience and investments. That day has come, and we believe no district in the Territoiy cau now compete com-pete with this in point of numbers, extent ex-tent and richness of ores discovered, and cap tal being invested in their de velopmeut. This is destined to lead the van in point of mineral weabh; and, ere l"Ug, to become trulv tho Eldorado El-dorado of the West. iMauy rich gulenu and chloride lodes are continually be ing discvered. Among the most valuable val-uable of recent due may be mentioned the "Silver Bilk," the "Sailor Jack,'' and the '"MelVugald," all of which challenge comparison with any othe; district, and are here still and may be seen by any one who will take the trouble trou-ble to enquire for them. A town ,ire ha bi-cn located here (the mouth of silver l'ork) under thi-nniue thi-nniue of "ddver Springs" and a po.-t ilbce and mail route applied f r, ami fur fir.t &iaj.e by Messrs. Pierce & Swim ey anchored in front of our olnee yesteidty eveuin. Meals and accommodations accom-modations can be had at all rimes, and a hotel wi.l be erected in a short time. Yours, Ac. 11. C.
