Ramon Amador, Ama-dor, tho murderer of Hiscock this summer, near San Lcandro, was hanged at half past eleven to-day at San Lcandro; he persisted to the last that ho killed his victim in self defence, lie directed all his property to be given to his sinter, who he declared he had hitherto kept from marrying, but who could now marry. He wept, prayed and sworf alternately, and insisted that he was to be hanged because ho was a poor man. W hen tho black cap was drawn over his face, it required two men to hold him up until the noose was adjusted. When the drop fell he struggled convulsively for some moments, mo-ments, but the neck was found to have been broken by the fall. Reports of marino disasters continue to come in from all diroctions, though there has been no bad weather and nothing to cause any particular loss on this coast beyond heavy fogs. The bark Rover of the Seas, which arrived from Antwerp to-day, reports tho death of captain Welcomb, of the ship California, Cali-fornia, now overdue here, who died off Capo Horn iu badweathcr. Tho depression in mining stocks this afternoon is not so great as at the morning board. The captain of the ship Carrie Reed, from Liverpool, reports that passing Good Success bay, cn tho coast of Terra Ter-ra del Fuego, he saw an iron ship with topmasts blaok, and lower white, round stern, apparently English, lying on her side on the shoro, part stove in; with a boat painted white, anda tenton shore deserted. The crew had probably been taken off by another. San Diego, 22. The iron clipper ship Talavera, from Liverpool for San Francisco, when 195 days out went ashore in San Ramon bay, lower California, Cal-ifornia, on the 11th. The captain arrived ar-rived here to-day in search of assistance. assis-tance. He says on the 5th of August he was -becalmed 500 miles off the coast. Theorem's stores run out, and only fifteen gallons of water were on board, and the captain dealt out from his stores one meal per day for each man. The men refused to work and wished to abandon tlio ship. On August 25th twelvo men left the ship in the life boat, first havins onp 1ih' of the remainder of the captain's supplies sup-plies dealt out to them. A" condenser was put at work which produced five gallons of water per day. On the 1 1th of September, made San Ramon bay, and the captain went ashore to search for assistance and supplies, leaving the mato in charge of the ship. The weather being hazy with a light wind, the ship struck and is now hard aground on a sand beach 200 yards from tho shore. Tho balance of the crew deserted the ship. The twelve who left in the life boat, in charge of the sail maker, succeeded in landing at Rosario on tho Sth. The ship's compliment of twenty-four men and six officers and one passenger are all safe. The captain will engago a tug boat here and start for San Ramon bay in a few davs. Los Angeles, 22. Tho firo in the mountains, northeast of the oity, ia apparently spreading. It is reported that an organized band of robbers and horse thieves arc in the mountains near this city, whose operations extend ex-tend to fcionora. Rich silver and galena quartz was brought in yesterday from the new mines found in the mountains eight miles from Desert springs, on the Owens river road, eighty miles from Walker's pass. A district has been formed called Johnson's district. Water is scarce and woo 1 plenty in the vicinity. OREGON. Portland, 22.-rA freight train on the Oregon Central railroad ran off the track near Jefferson to-day. The engine en-gine and seven cars were ditched. ; It has been raining almost constant : ly since yesterday noon. SECOND DISPATCH. CAXilFOIl.MA. San Francisco, 23. The laud commissioners com-missioners are re-delivering deeds under un-der the compromise act of 1S70, to perfect tho title to lands at the foot of 4th, 5th and tith streets, sold in 1S67. Parties who had made arrangements for shipping east large quantities of the finest quality of grapes from the mountain counties, find that the increased in-creased rates of freight by the railroad will practically cause an abatement of tho enterprise, as it would leave no margin whatever for profits, with a large one for losses.
