Show Hooks and Ladders. A very fioo hook and ladder truck, supplied with hooks and ladders complete, and a handsome hose carriage, arrived at the U. C depot yesterday. The former is designed for the use of Hook and Ladder Co. No. 1 of the city fire department. We hail with satisfaction this supply of equipments for our firemen, fire-men, and regard them as bnt tho forerunner fore-runner of a complete outfit for tho department. de-partment. Our city fathers don't make much blow about what they are doing to advance the interests of tho city, but when anything is needed they do it. |
