Show Business Paospixrs. Never hsd a city aad Territory a ikirer opportunity opportun-ity to attain a great and permanent prosperity than has this city ani Territory Terri-tory at the present time. Enough ig known of the wealth of our mines to give foreign capitalists entire confidence confi-dence in them ; the mines have passed the prospecting stage and are recognized recog-nized as of immense extent and value; capital ia cheap and abundant abroad and is seeking investment ; our agricultural agri-cultural resources are adeqaate to a l much larger population than Utah yet has, and peace reigns in the Territory. There is but one impediment in the way of a rapid development of our mines and consequent general prosperity, prosper-ity, and that the malicious, foolish, and wantonly infamous attempt of a few fanatically-prejudiced notoriety-seeking, envious, jealous, unscrupulous malcontents; mal-contents; men who if they cannot rule try to ruin, to frighten capitalists abroad from investing their means in I this Territory, by falsely representing that life and property here are insecure. Life and property are as safe here as in any part of the United States. Tho only danger to be apprehended to property pro-perty investments here lies in the conduct con-duct of the men who from the basest motives try to depreciate the value of that property, by publishing false statements as to the condition of affairs existing here. Capital is proverbially timid, and the result of publishing to the world the infamously false telegrams that have recently appeared in outside out-side journaU, will inevitably be to keep capital away from here. The gentiles own most of the mines in the Territory and they will be the heaviest losers by the publication of tho falsehood that life and property are not safe in Utah-'There Utah-'There is not the slightest danger of any difficulty here, beyond what a few gangrened gan-grened "soreheads" mav su-awed in making for themselves. They would like to stir up a little commotion for the purpose of attaining to a notoriety of which they are ambition?, and which they could nevor reaoh except they are bubbled into notice by some abnormal or fictitious event. Let peace reign and business thrive, and they would soon subside into a fitting but, to them, galling insignificance. . |
