Show f Star Distrkx Wo have seen some private letter from reliable Dar- ties in this district, which confirm even the most confident anticipations entertained enter-tained as to the richness of the mines. ,'The shaft of the Shenandoah mine is down sixty feet and at this distance a drift is being run on the supposed line , of the lode, in a solid mass of rich I chloride ore, the limit of which has 1 not yet been reached in any direction. The Hickory mine, the shaft of which is down about seventy feet, also shows a fine body of ore of the same class with that found in the Shenandoah, but not so extensive. The great repu-trtion repu-trtion of the Midas increases with development, de-velopment, and the Rebel looks well. Present indications warrant the expectation expec-tation that Star district will turn out to be a second Pioche. Mr. Schoon-maker Schoon-maker informs us that a first-class quartz mill will be erected and in operation ope-ration in the district, before the close of summer. |
