Show Utah Buanvh ok the Minjnu Bureau. We are informed that tho board of directors of the Mining , bureau of the Pacific coast, ou receipt f of a telegram from Col. Berton re-' spotting the proceedings of flic late meeting of our leading miners, met at San Francisco and decided that, owing : to the magnitude of the Utah mining interests, a branch olHco of the Mining bureau be opened at Salt Lake city and managed by K. p. Hutchius, Fq;., secretary of the bureau, in eonjunc-1 tion with two leading citizens of this city. Col. Berion, vice-consul of n France and president of the bureau, ii and Col. Harry Linden, member of the board of directors, now in this city, J having b:eu instructed to establish the : branch office of the bureau have ac- -cording'y appointed Geo. L. Woods,' governor of I; tah, to act as manager, in con iun tion with E. F. Huichins, secretary of the branch ofliec. Gov. oods is Well satiicd with the objects c and standing of the bureau, and has accepted the appointment. Tho third i manager will be appointed to-day. |
