Show By Telegraph. More Flgluiug. Tours, 10. The Prussians evacuated Orleans yesterday with great haste, leaving 500 sick and wounded. The day before the French gained a success at Coulmiens. The Prussians were strongly entrenched in their position, but were dislodged, suffering heavily. The General commanding retreated to an earthwork, and the French moved forward to Geminy, where they will occupy strong positions until the army of the Loire moves entirely forward. General Paladine reportsto government govern-ment that the battle which occurred two days ago, at Marchenoir, is more important than was at first reported. The Prussians lost 250 killed, and over 1,000 prisoners were taken by the French. Oje regiment of chasseurs kept a large Prussian force checked until the other French troops came up, when the Prussians retreated. |
