Show Called. We had a very pleasant call yesterday from W. L.Woods, Esq., Clerk of the Committee on Public Lands, House of Representatives, and his beautiful and accomplished lady. They have been visiting the Pacific coast, previous to Mr. Woods entering j upon his duties at the coming session of Congress, and gave a brief onll to our city. A trip to the west in this delightful weather cannot fail to be a pleasant one, and so they have found it; though we wi.-h (hey had arrived here earlier in the season before lato autumn had robbed our city of more than half its beauty in the departrd foliage. fo-liage. They return for a brief time to Indiana, previous to the sitting of Congress. Con-gress. We shall be pleased to welcome them here again when opportunity pm-mits pm-mits them to repeat the visit. |
