Show Cutting Timber. A notice from Geo. R. Maxwell and G. B. Overton, the Register and Receiver of the land office, relative to cutting timber on government gov-ernment lands, will be found in another column. The timber in this region is neither very plenty nor easy of access, and the quantity that can be cut on farms wouldn't build many frame State houses. But the law is not confined to one portion of the United States, and the only remedy we know of, is to have the matter brought before the Commissioner and Congress for the passage of an act for the relief of settlements set-tlements in this interior and moun-tanious moun-tanious country. |
