En Klax Committee. The Tribunes Washington special says the joint committee of the House and Senate on the Ku Klux outrages, will resume session at the Capitol today, to-day, and will have in consultation some of the most prominent gentlemen in the South. The committee decided some time ago to obtain the views and kaowledi-'e of the leading - men in the States of North and South Carolina, Alabama and Mississippi, and to this end the names of five or six prominent gentlemen from each of those States were selected and have been summoned summon-ed to appear before the committee for consultation as to the whole question under investigation. Memphis.Junc 1, The Littlo Rock Cazctte yesterday has a gloomy crop report from Pulaski, White, Woodruff, Jackson and Prairie counties. Owing to incessant rains of late and subsequent f ost, the stand of cotton is very poor. Many plantations have been plowed up and planted with corn. The Foit Smith Uerald says tho reports from the mountain counties are gloomy, especially es-pecially about wheat, and it is doubtful doubt-ful if even seel will be saved. Terger's Case. Sorter, left this morning for Long Branch. Just before his departure he made the appointment of Hon. George Bancroft to be Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the German empire.
