Show Are there two judciial districts in Utah without judges? is now the question. ques-tion. "Lex" has created a small-sized commotion by his communication. We have two gentlemen appointed Associate Justices of the Supreme Court of Utah by the President of the United States, duly confirmed by the Senate, and assigned, we are told, to the first and second judicial districts. But they do not reside in their districts, dis-tricts, and "Lex" lays down the point plainly and lucidly, that they have no legal authority toexercise judicial functions func-tions in those districts unless they do reside in them. How say you, gentlemen gentle-men of the judiciary? Have you been exercising judicial powers where you have no authority conferred by law to do so, seeing that the provisions of the law are not complied with? |
