Show The Foi'rth in Oohkn. Ye-ter-day D. II. Peery, E-i., manager of Z'on's Co operative Institution in Oitden, L. J. Heriiek, Bishop of Weber county, and (.'. W. Penrose. E-q , associate editor of the Ogdeti Jua were in town, lively and fuli of business, and they informed us that there was a big time iu Ogdeii on the 4 Ji. Through the courtesy of O- Urscn bach Esq , we are in possession of the programme of proceedings during the day, from which we learn that : Captain Wadsworth's artillery fired a salute at day-break. Col. D Gamble ran up the national colors at sun rise There wis a procession at nine o'clock of military, officers of the day, county officers, veterans, young ladies, young gentlemen citizens and strangers, day and Sunday schools, the Ogden brass band playing an important part in the procession and during the day. The exercises were held in the Tabernacle. Hon. F. D. Richards was the orator, and who d livered an eoquent oration. Speeches were made by Major Farr, Judge Miner and 11. Keithley, Esq ; A. Thorne. Esq., being the reader of the Declara tion of Independence. There was a spirited celebration all through. |
