Show THE MIDWIFEKV U l'K STIOJf . Salt Lake City, Due. lr., 170. lili,rs Herald : I read with sati.-litctiou your remarks re-marks in yesterday's Hkkald on midwifery. mid-wifery. The matter is an important one, and should receive more than a passing attention. As a member of the community I hope the Legislative authority and tho medical department of the Territory will take it in hand. ! Vhy should there not be an institu- tion of the kind suggested established ; by the Territory as well as a High ; School, when so many valuable lives mo dependent upon a proper kuow-Ige kuow-Ige of midwifery ? Let the city get lie or two competent medical men to take charge of the institution, and pay them for it ; and lei every scholar pay so much for a lecture or for a course ; and then let none be permitted to practice before having a diploma. The subject is one in which every family is interested, and as a husband and father I trust it will not be allowed to sleep. Respectfully, B. |
