Show OntTUARr. We this morning pub lisli the painful announcement of the death of Maj. James B. Lewis, at his residence in the 20ih Ward. M.-jur Lewis was a man of extensive acquaintance, acquain-tance, and his many friends will much regret to learn of his decease. He was born January 23d, 1831, in Poole, Dorsetshire, England, and was the son of J. B. and Elizabeth Lewis. He emigrated to this Territory in 1857, and was married here in 1863. He was faithful to his religion, a firm friend, a kind and loving husband, a genial acquaintance, a pushing, ener-jetic ener-jetic man and made friends on every side. As Major and Adjutant of the 3rd regiment, N. L., he secured the warm esteem and respect of his comrades, com-rades, who will sympathize with his bereaved and suffering partner. The obsequies will be conducted this afternoon after-noon at the 20th Ward School House. |
