Show Newspaper Postage. As there seenjs to be a lack of correct information informa-tion on the matter of postage on news papers to foreign countries, we publish pub-lish the following for the benefit of our readers which they may rely upon as correct, it being collated from tables furnished us from the Post Office in 'this city: The postage on all newspapers mailed to Canada and foreign countries must invariably bo prepaid, otherwise the papers will not be sent. The rates ol postago are, to Great Britain inelud ing Eoglifiid, Scotland, VVaies and Ireland Ire-land for every newspaper not exceeding ex-ceeding I'nur oz. in weight two cents; Australia til Sun Francisco two cents; Cauadii Dominion of Xova Scotia, New Brun-wick and Prince Edward Jsland, twoocnt: Denmark kul Vnnh German Union direct, six cents; Ger man State; via. .North German Union' direct, fix cents; Gibraltar via England, Eng-land, tour cents; China and Japan American packet via San Francisco, two cents; New Zealand and New South Wales, tu San Francisco, two cents; Norway and Sweden small newspapers under two oz., six cents each by direct maii; Prussia, via North German direct, three cents; Sandwich Islands, via San Francisco, two cents; Switzerland by direct mail from New York, four cents. Letters for Sandwich Sand-wich Islands via San Francisco require a prepaid postage of six cents, |
