Show Stockton. Messrs. Wallace & Co., if Stockton, have four tons of bullion, go.id quality, now stacked up in front if Reid's on East Temple St., run out by (he furnace of which they have become be-come proprietors. This furnace will run out three tons of bullion a day; ind the company, which is a Philadelphia Philadel-phia one, are sending out another smelter to be put up immediately. Stockton is the oldest mining camp of any in this neighborhood, and this is really the first success in reducing the ores there, though they are highly spoken of, yielding a clear soft lead and a good percentage of silver. We met Col. J. G. Wallace, of the firm, yesterday, who is confident of continued success in their operations. There is no lack of mines and good ore is in lbundance in that district. |
