Show Map op Utaii. We were shown jeiterday the drawing of the last part of Col. Froiseth's new sectional map of Utah, which i3 now complete and ready for the engraver. This part shows all that portion of the Territory south of a line running east and west, close to the town of Ephraim, in Sao Pete county, and gives the government govern-ment surveys as far as completed up to the 15th of the present month, running run-ning from township 17 sou'.h to township town-ship 43 south, and within ranges from 1 to 3 east and from 1 to 19 west, clearly showing the location of every city, town and settlement, both inside and outside the government surveys. The boundary lines of the several counties are most clearly defined, which ihe author was enabled to do with great accuracy through the assistance -of the recent surveys. The map also shows a proposed line for the extension exten-sion of the Utah Southern R. R. as far south as St. George, with a branch running off from Minersville to Pioche, on what the author deems the most feasible route. Col. Froiseth has been very closely engaged on this map for over six months, having bestowed more time upon it than was anticipated, it will not be ready for delivery to subscribers sub-scribers as soon as was announced. It 18 expected however that it will be ready the latter part of June. The work seems to have been very thoroughly thor-oughly dono so far as the author is concerned and if the engraving is in comparison, Utah will have a "map that will reflect credit upon all concerned. |
