Show A. HtSDlSU PIIOPOSITIOX. The editor of the Uaho Sla.lennan I'l'ot'tjsses to stand upon an elevated jiliuie. He advocates the rights of the Mack man aad the yellow man of the ncgrn and the Chinaman. He is occasionally occa-sionally scviire on the red man; but thcro is probably a spot somewhere in his liberality that would even extend the 1-ith and loth amendments to the Indian In-dian with certain restrictions. This extremely liberal soul occasionally treats bii readers to articles on Utah and the Mormons: and from tliein it would seem that there is no ordinary amount of latent rancor in his soul, which party requirements forbid him pouring the out upon the American-Africans or worshippers of "Joss," and which is therefore lavished in all its unadulterated unadulter-ated bitterness on the heads of the .Mormons, with au occasional overflow on his partisan enemies, the Democrats. In a late issue he is extremely anxious to have Utah flooded with "modern civilization' Probably if this towering tower-ing genius of the Boise basin had time, he would tell us of -what that civilization consists. He might inform the world how much drunkenness, gambling; fiee-loveism, prostitution: flaunting iutamy and unadulterated devilishuess it takes to make up his idea of "modern civilization." But the other weighty matters which occupy occu-py his editorial time are probably too onerous. That some idea may be formed of the humane, liberal, repub lican and noble policy which this Boise quill-driver encourages, we pre sent the following from the article referred re-ferred to. The italics are ours : The true policy of the government towards the Mormon hierarchy is to oppose to it, by every possible means, its natural enemy, modern civilization, knfn'ce the law, certainly; but also encourage and protect the encroachments encroach-ments of the dreaded Gentile. Amend their organic act and take away their leyislatice nicer, thus Uremkinir up that nest where hostility to Gentiles i.-hatched. i.-hatched. Outlatc them from theUnc-tits theUnc-tits of Anwixan eithens v:h':ntver practicable. prac-ticable. ' In the absence of any Mormon legislature, Congress can so shape the legislation that there will be actual inducements to Gentile immigration immi-gration into Utah. Let the ban be removed, re-moved, and we know that any amount of eicilizcd. penpb stand ready to m-h in there, to hud hones and occupy the waste places of Ziou. That is, af:er Government has out-lawed out-lawed the people and driven the'i from the homes reared with an endurance that should command the admiration of the world, this savage, whom an inscrutable in-scrutable Providence has thrown into au editorial stool, says any amount of "civilized people" stand ready to rush in and occupy those homes. The man who penned the article stands, self-proclaimed, self-proclaimed, a more cowardly, barbarous barbar-ous and blood-thirsty savage than the most treacherous Indian of the West; for he would have a whole Territory depopulated by the power of Goveru-mint, Goveru-mint, while he looked on at a distance dis-tance in safety till the bloody work was consummated; and then, when thc6e unoffending "outlaws" were scattered scat-tered or killed, he would probably be one of the "civilized people" who would rush here for a home which the victims of his savage hate had made desirable and beautiful. Is such a man worthy to bear the name of American citizen or enjoy the blessings of a free republican country'.' He is a disgrace to any community or any country: a putrid soul whose noisome smell infects the atmosphere, as far as his emanations emana-tions spread. We -i-k the men who are coming into L tah at this time to make it their home, Do you endorse such licudish -.cntimenls? Is this man, the editor of a we-tern paper, representing a party in the Territory where he reVides, giving utterance to a policy which you accede to'.' We tell you plainly tbut just such sentiments acted upon in this Territory in the past, and the crtorts Hjade to break up the community by sav-u'.";, sav-u'.";, unscrupulous and bitter enemies of the people, have caused all the coldness with wh'ch some may have been received re-ceived heie; and that it is only an honorable, straightforward, manly, liberal lib-eral and republican course, that can remove that feeling. This man Would "outlaw" men as far above him as the uu-light is above the gaseous flame that sometimes springs tiouj fetid iwamps; and he would o-lraoue, pro-cribe. pro-cribe. drive and tnurd';r a whole people, peo-ple, to .rutily lii tualevol ;nt fnrati-'ism fnrati-'ism and biot'ed hate, simply became tli'ty liir. e:' ici.-e the lice thou;dits of their own free lOuIs within con-titu-lional bound-;.
