Show THf MiNING CONGRfSS ANOTHEB FEATURE ADDED TO LIST OF ENTERTAN Captain De Lamar Consents t Open the Golden Gate mil for Visitors on July 10 New Delegates Appointed i Ap-pointed I I I I Through the kindness of Professor i Stephens the Mining congress committee I com-mittee yesterday was enabled to add i j another feature to its list of entertainments I entertain-ments for the visitors next week The professor advised the committee that I his Sousa chorus of childrens voices would give a rehearsal on Thursday immediately following the afternoon i session of the congress to which all j the delegates and the ladies accompanying I I accompa-nying them will be invited About 2003 j children will talte part in the concert I accompanied by the tabernacle organ j I and their singing is expected to be one dt I of the most enjoyable affairs I of the weeks profframme Governor Wells W S McCornick and Secretary Johnson called on Captain J R De Lamar yesterday morning and asked him to throw open the Golden Gate mill to the visitors who go to Mercur on Sunday July 10 Captain De Lamar said he would be very glad Ito I-to have the vititors inspqct the mill and to make it th more satisfactory he said Manager Hartwig A Cohen would be on hand to personally conduct J the trip through the mill and explain m i sU Jh J its operations and answer such questions ques-tions as would suggest themselves to I practical mining men The excursion train will be run directly into the I mill Jt very pretty ehibltof State Line ores waS added to the state collection in the Hall of Relics yesterday and more is on the way from the camp with the probability that it will be in place before the congress opens It Is the intention of the committee to throw open the whole display for the inspection inspec-tion of Salt Lake people on Tuesday morning and to keep it open until af rr 1 Pc i unt ter the close of the congress The committee has been working hard through the delegation in congress I con-gress to secure the attendance of a representative of the geological survey sur-vey It is now assured that Dr Day chief of the division of statistics will be present While the doctor does not think it would be nroner for him to |
