Show WYOMINGS COPPER BELT I A Zone of Mineral Seven Miles InI I Length Messrs J F Landon Boney Earnest Ear-nest and S Parkins of Carbon county and E J Rice of Jonesboro Ark and I J F Browning of Deadwood S D came into Rawlins Tuesday from a two months prospecting tour along the great divide north and west of the Doane copper mine For the past three weeks various vague rumors of the discovery of a great copper mineral belt have been in the air and so many numerous mineral min-eral discoveries have been made recently I re-cently that but little attention was paid to this last find It seems now however that the copper float which dots the hills from Hog Park to the Savery is traced to a belt which extends on the east from North Park ranging along then across the continental divide clear to the north side of the Sandstone Thi recent discovery made by these gentlemen who have just returned from their camps definitely locates a belt seven miles long Along this copper cop-per belt cropplngs show up unmistakably unmistak-ably and on the north end Mr James Douglas of Snake river has located some eleven claims and Messrs Earnest Ear-nest Landon Rice Browning and Parkins the rest of the south end of the belt Ore rich in copper and Iron has been brought in for a thorough test A quartzite cap covers the country for miles across which the copper lead breaks through and has been easily followed and located Assessment work on these locations has been completed and a competent assayer has stated that under this quartzite cap immense bodies of I copper will be found that will make it a camp surpassing Anaconda I Mr Browning is now awaiting the arrival of his partner from Deadwood when he will return to the new district dis-trict Mr Landon and Mr Ernest will return to their ranches to look after their hay crops when they will return to the new fields and develop their properties Each gentleman Is elated over the discoveries and are thoroughly satisfied from the work done in the past two months that they have veritable bonanzas |
