| Show LUMBER lEN MEET They Propone to Intimate to Congress Con-gress Just What They Neeti Cincinnati Dec 15Lumbermen from all over the United States gathered I here this morning for the convention conventon Twentyone states were represented by 150 delegates Speeches were made an organization effected and the convention conven-tion recessed until this afternoon When order was called by President Goodyear at the opening of the afternoon = after-noon session the committee upon permanent I per-manent organization recommended the following nominations which received I I the approval of thg convention President Presi-dent W C Goodyear of Pennsylvania I I vicepresidents H Clay Tunis of Maryland pud E F Skinner of Florida I I Flor-ida secretary C W Wells of Illi noa noaA A ways and mean committee whose duties shall be the ascertaining of what tariff legislation Is demanded fov the best interest of the lumbermen of the country and devise ways and I means for Its accomplishment was appointed I ap-pointed consisting of members of the I South Atlantic states middle south southwest New England New York I Pennsylvania northwest and Pacific coast I Resolutions were adopted petitioning congress to place lumb < r on the duti I I able list and urging lumber dealers throughout the United States to furnish fur-nish to representatives and senators of their district full information in relation rela-tion to the needs and conditions of the lumber industry to tHe end that they can consistently assist in the passage of beneficial measures |
