Show POLLOCKS LETTEU Weekly Review of the Mining Share 3Iarl ct James A Pollock will say in his weekly mining share market letter under un-der date of November 13 1896 Transactions during the last few days have shown the growing interest which the public is now taking in mining stocks Immediately after the elect < l the result had a tendency to depress the strictly silver stocks but sober consideration brought to mind the tact that conditions have not changed materially ma-terially during the past year and the consequence nab been an increased hardening of the market Gold stocks are very strong and the increased inquiry in-quiry reflects the bent of the public I I mind The wave of confidence that I started in New York last week is grad I ually working its way west and 1 look for a strong demand for all of our best investment stocks The fancy of the speculators during the coming year will be gold mines but silver will come in for a due share of interest Ajax continued well maintained although I al-though the dealings were probably not so heavy as during the previous week The properties are making a good record rec-ord the gold and copp values In the shipping ore running higher Alliance and Anchor are practically out of the market little or no business being done in them BullionBeck has repeated its October dividend record and declared a double dividend of 30 cents per share There was no material change in the stock however The ore showing in the deep continues quite gratifying A very much increased inquiry for Centennial Eureka caused an active bidding in the stock but the offerings were very limited lim-ited and the only sales were of odd lots The close was strong with little stock out The November dividend will come on the 15th Both of the Dalys were somewhat stronger Although nothing has been heard from New York regarding the expected Daly dividend it is thought that payment will be made for the past quarter this month Both Daly and DalyWest are doing I wel at the properties Dalton and Dalton Dal-ton and Lark were unchanged The I 17th delinquent sale on Dalton comes on the Notwithstanding the reported pooling of the East Golden Gate stock under an option the stock did not recover any of its lost strength and sold as low as 1 cent No improvement at the property has occurred Four Aces sold lower although the business in the stock was not heavy The company is pushing development work Galena has paid its usual dividend of 5 cents per share for November The stock was about unchanged un-changed although there was a slight weakening tendency Geyser was stronger on good reports from the properties and the promised mill improvements im-provements Horn Silver was featureless feature-less Sales were made under the 2 I mark in New York Good reports are coming from the mines Lucky Bill is said to have a better showing than ever before in its history Mercur was the strongest stock on the list during the week and sold at advancing figures from the opening The November dividend was declared on the 9th Even after the close of the dividend books the stock sold above the quarter with the demand active and only limited offerings The quotations should be much higher before the close of the month Mammoth was very weak due to increased fears that yer months dividend wii not be paid I now looks as though this anticipation antcipaton was well founded Ore shipments were light Ontario was stronger although the business done was not heavy The I Old Reliable is Relable making a splendid record rec-ord Swansea paid its November divi dend on the 10th The stock was strong and active but made no advances South Swansea was stronger Silver King reentered the dividend paying list paying its old amount 25 cents per share on the 9th The stock was held out of reach of wouldbe purchasers On account of improvements being made at the properties Utah passed this months dividend but will more than likely pay as usual next month The stock did not change much al though somewhat weaker as was naturally to be expected wa The Ahphnltum Locators Since the article in yesterdays Herald Her-ald relative to the rumor that the men who have made asphaltum locations loca-tions in the Uncompahgre reservation intended to get out an order restraining Major Brandlett from interfering with the development of these properties it has been learned that the locators of these claims are arranging for a consolidation con-solidation and the organization of a stock company the basis of the capitalization capit-alization being 2000 thares of stock for each claim embraced in the embrced consolidation con-solidation I is also rumored that an effort will be made at an early date to have a government survey made of this reservation reser-vation as it is believed that the as phaltum deposits are not embraced in its boundary lines is boundaro 1n s I Is evident that these locators mean business and that they will organize for the purpose of maintaining their title to these valuable deposits Notes from Fish Springs American Fork World One of our prominent townsmen has just returned from a trip to the vicinity of Fish Springs and he
