Show KEARXS MEN RATTLED They Would Rather Have Lost the Entire State Ticket Than Have Hail Him Defeated Other Notes KA1MIAS Nov 9 Joseph Lewis one I of our most respected townsmen passed i pass-ed quietly away this morning He was taken with rheumatism eleven years ago last June and has been confined to the house for over ten years His joints were all out of place some of the fingers lying on the back of his hand in fact his condition was very deplorable He suffered a thousand yes ten thousand deaths We all sympathize sym-pathize with the family for their loss yet all feel that Joseph is far better off and none would wish him back to continue to suffer as he has done for so long a time Excitement prevails all over the neighborhood as to the results of the election Republicans feel jubilant and confident that they have gained a complete com-plete victory and will carry the entire territory for all the important offices while Democrats feel hopeful and trust that they still live and will have a word or two to say in the matter The Kearns men are very indignant over their defeat as to that man Some claim they would have sooner lost all the balance of the ticket than to haye lost him Democrats say If you down us we will still fight for our principles fully believing that the under dog will come out on top after awhile Never say die is the motto of all true Democrats Demo-crats The stormy weather made it quite disagreeable on election day but for all that the number of votes polled only fell 9 short of the entire registry list and three of those were out of the county and could not possibly have rot here in time to cast their vote This shows that the voters of this little lit-tle town were awake to their interests te From the returns so far it seems the good old Democratic principles must be trodden under foot by the cloven hoofs of the party of trusts I bounties monopolies and special privileges I privi-leges to the favored few |
