Show PROVO STREET LIGHTS Council Will Ascertain the Cost of a Plant Provo March SThe committee on streets and alleys reported on the question of street lighting but the mat tur was referred back with Instructions to determine upon the advisability of contracting with the Telluride Power company for light or for the erection of a plant to be owned by the city The interest evinced by the different members mem-bers of the council indicates that they are in favor of lighting the city The only question now to be determined is the most economical method of furnishing furnish-ing the light President Booth introduced a ordinance ordi-nance which makes it unlawful for any minor to Visit any saloon except upon the written consent of the parent or guardian also prohibiting card or pool I playing in any saloon or other building I or room which can be entered from any saloon The ordinance was referred to the committee on judiciary Council Martin introduced a resolution resolu-tion declaring the policy of the council to be one of strict economy and that all surpluses arising in any department should be paid into the waterworks sinking fund to pay off the waterworks bonds The resolution was tabled for one week The question of a garbage depository was brought before the council and after af-ter discussion referred to a committee with instructions to select a suitable place |
