Show FAMILIES FORCED OUT EVICTIONS HAVE1 BEGUN OV THE RESEHVATIOX Setters Find Their Household Goods Scattered Over the Prairie There is Trouble in SIght Omaha July 2 Captain Beck starts I his armed Indians ejecting settlers in earnest Many families forced from homes with their household goods scattered over the prairie are swear ing out warrants against the Indians A special to the Bee from ender says Twentyfive armed Indian police were sent out from the agency by Cap tain Beck this morning for the purpose of ejecting those settlers who had not made new leases approved by the agent Up to this evening four families fami-lies have been removed from their homes and their household goods are scattered over the prairie and along the right of way of the Omaha rail way between Flournoy and Emerson So soon as those who have been ejected ejec-ted arrive here and swear out complaints com-plaints against the police there will be a posse organized for the purpose of arresting them and bringing them to Pender for trial The trial large majority ma-jority of the settlers will not make new leases with Captain Beck as they have already secured the years rent to the Flournoy company Should they make new leases with Beck they claim they would be Obliged to pay rent twice on the same piece of land which they cannot afford to do and Have organized for the purpose of defeating de-feating the efforts of the government to secure the lands to the Indians |
