the expressed opinion that the merits of the historical paintings exhibited in justice called forte I for-te wading of the premiums In fa tone t-one of the pictures shown by Mr Hoag was given first mention at an exhibition I i in Paris G circumstance which of itself should have secured him recognition Furthermore tibia exhibitors were artists of acknowledged ability and were sup sup posed to understand their work The action of the board was not considered con-sidered right by the artists and many have thought seriously of withholding their pictures from future territorial fairs on this account ars t5 acunt In the interest of future fairs and of the good feeling w lc sfibuld prevail between the board and the fair exhibitors exhibit-ors I believe the 6 premium should be paId
