Show MILL FOR THE LA CIGALE A Large Plant to Be in Operation by May 1st Henry S McKay and Robert B Blodgetof Boston who with C H Scheu are the owners of the now famous La Cigale mine on the west I dip arrived in camp Monday says the I Mercur Mercuiy accompanied by H D Hodges a mining engineer also of Beaton A reporter met the gentlemen at the office of Manager Scheu Wednesday and was accorded a short interview by Mr McKay who said that himself and associate were more than pleased with the showing made at the mine and the manner in which Mr Scheu had conducted operations When they purchased pur-chased the property there was not a pound of ore in sight now there is one of the finest showings of ore in the I camp for the amount of development Asked as to the building of a milling I plant Mr McKay said that it was probable that before his departure a contract for a mill would be let to be I completed by the first of May Mr McKay who is an architect has already al-ready drawn the plans for the mill which will be something somewhat different from any now in operation The plan will be constructed with the idea of ultimately treating 1000 tons of ore daily but will start with a tank capacity of 200 tons and the ore will never be handled from the time it leaves the mine until it is denosited on the tailing dump The skip as it comes from the mire will dump into the rQck breaker the pulp will be carried car-ried by elevators to the top of the mill and dumped into an immense pulp bin under this pulp bjn automatic carriers car-riers will be in operation to carry the J pulp to the leaching tanks while under the leaching tanks automatic carriers will receive the tailings and carry them out onto the dump The owners of the La Cigale which covers 3WO feet on the apex of the vein will divide the group into three properties proper-ties which will each have its own mill and be owned by different may diferent companies com-panies A new shaft was started this week on the south end of the property 500 feet from the Omaha line and it is the intention by the time the mill is ready for operation to have this shaft down 500 feet and a large area of ore blocked out by levels and drifts I is anticipated that the cost of mining min-ing and milling this ore will not exceed 1 per ton |
